Assassin's Creed 3 A New Chapter,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Assassin's Creed III (Exclusive Edition)[PS3] (Video Game)
Storyline (spoiler) - It is a good storyline I found it interesting and it keeps you wanting to play the game but the ending was a big let down I know that many other people feel the same way about it. Some parts of the story seemed very rushed and could have done with a better build up or a more reasoning. The story was surprisingly short when the game ended I was disappointed how short it actually was, I believe it was the shortest one yet if not it certainly felt like it.
Graphics - As always they make their games look stunning and Assassin's Creed 3 has this, great detail to pretty much everything and time periods are accurately drawn out in the game. The countryside area's in the previous games lacked detail they were just plain but in Assassin's Creed 3 they have paid more attention by giving us forests with small villages and the ability to climb trees. We also have a choice to change seasons so you can make it summer or winter with snow it really is a visually stunning game.
Gameplay - They have changed the controls again it does get a bit of getting used to but I don't really like the changes they are too complicated. Jumping around buildings and climbing has also been made more difficult to control than before I think they need to rethink the controls. I encountered several bugs while playing the game although nothing major that ruined it. The overall gameplay is good and similar to the previous games with the controls being the most noticeable change.
Excellent graphics and detail.
New characters and a brand new time period.
Plenty of side missions to do and other things to unlock.
Large maps to explore a few cities and countryside areas.
You can now hunt animals and set traps.
Storyline disappointing in some areas and felt rushed and short.
Different controls making it more difficult to play.
Several bugs although nothing major.
Sometimes people will spawn out of no where, this happened to me in the previous game as well.
Overall - Assassin's Creed 3 sets a new mark for the series as Connor takes over as the main role from Ezio. Some like Connor and some don't I didn't like him at first but started to like him more as the game went on. The story isn't too great and felt rushed and short overall. The game graphics and detail are very good but the controls let the overall gameplay down. I'm giving this a 3/5 the lowest I've given any Assassin's Creed game because they need to work more on the story and a few other things to make a game excellent they've done it before and they can do it again.
