This review is from: The Five of Cups (Paperback)
The five of cups, where do i start?... i absolutely adored it.It took me to a place where i dream of living.Wendy mewes transports the reader to la folle, a rather remote part of france with a village square, market place and acres of woodlands and landscapes which draw you in to read on.
The story is based on 39 year old Zena who has moved to la folle to try clear her head after a painful split from her boyfriend lucas. she has gone to la folle as it was the birth place of lucas and deep down hopes she will meet him there again.
the book is spiritual based, we meet erin, a tarot reader whom zena visits on a regular basis, erins brother and many more characters who come into zenas life throughout her stay at la folle. the book gave me a feeling of total freedom, a place of inspiration and although fiction definately gives you insight to your own life and how simplicity of life and the earth feeds the soul.
this book deserves the full five stars and along with the moon garden another book by wendy mews i would thoroughly recommend them both. i found that i never wanted the book to end and in my eyes thats a great book.
