Not for me, I prefer the early(ish) quirky pop to the later synth-based stuff,

I've always associated Sparks with catchy quirky pop like "This Town Ain't Big Enough" and if you buy this album expecting to hear songs in a similar vein to that you'll be disappointed.
It seems that they became a more synth-based electro-pop group a few years later and there are songs on here that sound a little like Kraftwerk - I do like Kraftwerk but that's not really what I was expecting to be hearing.
If you want great catchy pop tunes with clever lyrics then I'd recommend getting "Mael Intuition / Best Of Sparks 1974-76" instead which is a fantastic compilation from before the change in musical direction.
Only two songs from that period feature on this album, the other being "Amateur Hour", and to me they're the best songs on this.
