4.0 out of 5 stars Caller ID? No problem, 27 Jun. 2012
By
This review is from: Max Value 56K USB Modem (Electronics)
I bought this item to use CallerId on a BT landline. Although this is rumoured to be 'difficult', I managed it with this
modem first time. The AT control strings are: AT+GCI=B4 (sets country to UK) AT+FCLASS=8 (sets voice mode) AT+VCID=1 (enables caller ID).
In fact, maybe only the last one is needed - anyway, it works fine...

Spent hours trying to get this to work with just AT+VCID=1 to no avail but using the set of commands above works perfectly. Thanks for posting!

In your mail you say "Using the set of commands above" but there's nothing "above" on your post. Could you let me know what you used. I used AT+VCID=1 and send AT+VCID? every 2 seconds to make sure it's still alive, if not it gets and ATZ then AT+VCID=1 to initialise again.
Will be interested if your commands keep the thing running for more than 6 hours.
Many thanks in advance
Paul
