4.0 out of 5 stars Only my opinion...., 20 Jun. 2010
This review is from: Exile on Main Street (Deluxe Edition - Includes 12 Page Booklet) (Audio CD)
No one likes the Stones more than I do, and I love some of the tracks on this album, - Shine a Light, etc, - but for some reason I have never thought of this album as their VERY best. I even think Goats Head Soup to be very underrated.
I actually think Sticky Fingers to have better songs on it, and think of it as the finer album.
Just my own personal opinion, that's all. But am I the only person in the world to actually think this?
I often think so. So be it, we must be able to have our own opinion, not just follow popular opinion.

Goats head is better than Exile. True, but considered heresy today!

I'm with you. Sticky Fingers is a much better album. Hell, Tattoo you is better too - just my humble opinion. I'll never understand the praise heaped on this album. Truth is, it's rather dull in places.

Exile is good but I like Sticky Fingers more. But I like 12 x 5, Out Of Our Heads and especially Aftermath and Between The Buttons most. Maybe because I am rathder old...

I like the earlier LPs too.
I like both the US and UK versions of Out Of Our Heads.
With Aftermath and Buttons I have a preference for the UK versions.

Especially with Aftermath I prefer the UK version. If you have the US version I think you must also buy the album Flowers.

I never bought the US Aftermath. I do have 'Flowers' and a few other US albums.
I have all of their 60's output, many vinyls, tapes, CDs.
Most of the UK compilations I have are now out of print.
