This review is from: Improve Punctuation & Grammar 3e: Master the Essentials of the English Language and Write with Greater Confidence (How to) (Paperback)
It is often the case that grammar books are incredibly complex and often leave you more confused than enlightened on a certain grammatical rule, often leaving you questioning whether you should just give up on English and learn an entirely different language.
I have had a wide array of grammar books, and would often consult these when I would have a moment of brainlessness when I would forget, for example, what subordinate clauses were. However, these books would fester even more confusion in me and would tear a hole through my chest as my pain grew in proportion to my inability to understand a certain grammatical concept. This would lead me to flee to the safety of mathematics where such rules would not destroy my soul.
However, this book has descended from the heavens on a majestic white stallion and has provided such a clear explanation of grammar in an organized manner that I have recommended it to countless people and continue to praise its no nonsense explanations and ability to explain grammatical rules with clarity whilst providing you with examples. As I read this book, I began to do something ludicrous. I was enjoying it....a grammar book.
Onto slightly more specifics, what is essentially the main thing in which I am basing my positive experience in reading this book on is simply the actual organization of the text on the pages with grammatical structures clearly highlighted, and coupled with the explanations that I personally found more short and concise than other sources of grammatical information that I have used, I would say that this book is purely what you need as a grammar reference book. If you want to make this clearer to you, then do use the 'click to look inside' feature for the book to see the organization of the text yourself.
