An absorbing change of direction,
This review is from: The Night Watch (Hardcover)
This book is not the raucous, rollicking romp we were treated to in Tipping the Velvet nor the rip-snorter of a page turner that Fingersmith was. Instead, Waters takes on a slightly different, omnipotent story telling style, knitting together several lives in wartime London. It lacks the passion of her earlier books but it is beautifully layered and intricate and overall a different but very satisfying read.
