Dated writing style,
This review is from: Butcher's Copy-editing: The Cambridge Handbook for Editors, Copy-editors and Proofreaders (Hardcover)
The writing style for this book is quite old-fashioned. I found myself reading some sentences two or three times. For example, I had trouble understanding who uses which colour ink on a proof copy. It shouldn't be that complicated. Shorter sentences would probably help. Diagrams showing the various stages of book publication would be helpful for those who are new to the publishing.
I think the book could be written in a more up-to-date, accessible style without being dumbed down. It contains valuable information, but it takes some effort to plough through text.
