Ruined by sticky label,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Premier Housewares Acacia Wood Large Round Salad Bowl (Kitchen & Home)
This would have been a great salad bowl. Except for one thing. Some thoughtless person has stuck an 'Acacia' label on the inside of the product. It is impossible to remove without leaving behind a glue residue. I would consider it potentially unsuitable for food use as you don't want the glue leaching into food. It's hard enough to get labels off plates and such like but sticking them onto wooden items is idiotic especially as they haven't used a very low tack label. Hot water only removed the paper part of the label but the glue residue clearly remained. No label would have earned the product 5 stars!

Try lighter fluid to get rid of the glue. I haven't tried it on wood but it works well on everything else.

Try a squirt of WD40, rub it well, then a thorough soapy wash. The smell [and taste?] will take a while to dissipate but it works on glass so who knows...?

I totally agree. I have spent all morning trying to get the glue off from both labels. I used nail varnish remover as someone suggested , but sadly it has marked the beautiful bowl. How stupid of suppliers spoiling their lovely product .

Isopropyl alcohol might remove the label gum and not leave a taint.

'Sticky Stuff Remover' - A must-have in the kitchen cupboard - can't live without it.
