Yes its worth doing,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Microsoft Access 2010 (PC DVD) (Software)
Having developed quite a few databases in Access for various organisations using Access versions from 95 onwards (including Access 97, 2000 and 2003), I had recoiled from the 2007 ribbon interface and not used 2007 much. However, since some of the database users were moving to Access 2010 I had no choice but to buy a standalone copy of Access 2010 and grit my remaining teeth to persist through the initial learning curve.
At first it was a pain, but suddenly the underlying approach begins to make more sense and you find the shortcuts for the core programming routines that make using Access 2010 as positive an experience as the previous versions. There are one or two oddments in Access 2010 which are perhaps inconvenient(eg. the loss of user-level security if you move away from the MDB format) but these are offset by the growing realisation that the heart of the system remains coherent, usable, and increasingly powerful.
So prepare yourself for a learning curve, but yes it is definitely worth doing.
