Nicely Photographed But Disappointing,
This review is from: I'm One: 21st Century Mods (Hardcover)
I bought this book with high expectations but they quickly dissipated upon having a read (well actually, it was just a look).
The book is beautifully photographed but that is about as far as it goes. There are no accompanying stories to who these people are, why they were chosen to be in the book and their importance within the mod scene (either now or way back in the day).
Basically, it's like opening someone's personal photo album that has been published for everyone to look at.
The other problem for me was that the photos are of mods today, there are no shots of these people when they were in their heyday 50 years ago. This would have given the book an interesting 'then & now' perspective which I'm sure others would have enjoyed too !!
Would I recommend it to others ..... no, not really, I'd tell them to go to the local library and look at it there to save them the costs of purchase.
