This review is from: From Galilee to the Negev (Hardcover)
An unexpectedly poor vision of the land of Palestine. A very typical 'Stephen Shore' view, however -and unlike his beautiful early work- VERY unimaginative, superficial and 'dry', not only in terms of beauty (expectedly so -since we are talking about Stephen Shore) but also 'dry' in terms of content. I have been lucky photographing the same region since 2012, and the only thing I can tell about the particular project is, that it has been a quick and scruffy approach confined in very few visits and consequently resulting in trivial photographs of minor importance.
Of course all these remarks are a good reason for anyone who is a book collector (like myself) or a photographer who is interested in the region (again like myself) to get this book. Yes, unfortunately this book is good solely for this reason. If one is looking for a typical Stephen Shore or a view of the land of Israel or the land of Palestine, thank God, there are MANY Israeli photographers who have done this wonderfully. Pity for such a great master and teacher.
