Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Having had norton for a couple of years and not been terribly impressed I was ready for a change. I'm pleasantly surprised by Spyware Doctor. It installed easily and isn't a resource hog on start up (one of my gripes about the aforementioned norton).
The 1st scan I ran picked up several spyware threats that had been undetected by norton (which was up to date & replaced as soon as my subscription expired). There haven't been any compatability issues and it's pretty easy to get going straight out of the box, which is great for me as I don't want to have to spend my leisure time deciphering an impenetrable tecnical manual before I can get a piece of software to work. You can use the same licence on up to 3 computers as long as you use the same email account to activate it. I've only got the one myself so I don't know if there are any issues with this in practice (again, harking back to norton (sorry, I'm not from a rival company or anything, it's just my frame of reference) when I tried to install my version on my dad's computer when his (separate) subscription expired it was impossible to get rid of the old norton product key on his machine, even when I edited the registry therefore I couldn't run it off my subsciption even though it as well covered up to 3 computers, so I don't know if anything like this is likely to be the case with Spyware Doctor)
I'm happy with this programme and would be happy to recommend it. It only gets 4 stars primarily because something has to blow my socks off to get 5, and frankly I don't get that excited about computer software!!
