This review is from: Pride and Prejudice (Kindle Edition)
There can be few novels that presume to be so perfectly positioned in a long forgotten age of antiquated, stiffled affection and yet remain capable of such insights to the hearts of every man and woman that more contemporary works fail to illuminate.
Not since reading Siddhartha by Herman Hesse have I been so transported to another time and place inhabited by characters that have become so real that I long to speak to them and become further acquainted. I know fan fiction speak loudly on this subject! For me I would wish to hear Mr Collins' sermon of a Sunday morning and to observe his congregation torn between madness and mirth.
Quite why it has taken me this long to read I cannot say.
