Great movie bad uk release,
This review is from: Dredd (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray) (Blu-ray)Firstly the positive. It's a good movie and a great representation of a day in the life of Judge Dredd. The Negative. My main reason to write my review is to warn those of you who like me, were looking forward to the 7.1 and Neo:X sound tracks that appear on the Lionsgate US blu ray release. No such luck here. We're well and truly skanked by Entertainment In Video. They were bad at distributing videos in the 90's and I guess they're just as bad at bluray. No effort from them to offer the same audio experience and leave us with a m'eh 5.1 track. I'd buy the US disc if it weren't region locked. Should have saved my money and stuck with my download. Geek Rant over. Good flick though.

John MacNeil says:
What prospective purchasers want to read are reviews of the *actual products* Amazon is selling, not simple rehashes of the myriad movie review sites available elsewhere. Here, the OP makes a valid point potential buyers should be aware of, that the UK release of Dredd is technically inferior to the one available for sale in the US.
Now scuttle back to kindergarten, and while you're there, learn how to write in English.

Superb response - I, for one, care what my ££ end up on, and if it's a sub-par DVD containing a fantastic movie, then that's relevant.
I can read a movie review anywhere, reviews of a DVD from Amazon should be just that - a review of what they're expecting people to pay for.
I'd have bought this like a shot if it contained a digital copy, but with that omission and the comment regarding the sound, I too will be waiting for a Director's Cut or enhanced version.
