Not "Charmed", But Not Bad...,
By A Customer
This review is from: So Mote It Be (Circle of Three) (Mass Market Paperback)
I was actually quite sceptical when I bought this book, any "Charmed" fan will at first notice the similarities. However, as I read further into it I realised that this was more than a stab at the success of "Charmed". The story focuses on a young high school girl, Kate Morgan, who casts a Love Spell she finds in a magic book to get this guy to fall in love with her! But things get a little out of hand and Kate seeks others to help her control the chaos she has unleashed! Teaming up with Annie and Cooper (therefore creating the Circle of Three) Kate tries to repair the havoc while battling with her doubts about witchcraft and fears of losing her friends. I felt this book was nicely written, interesting and comfortable BUT the plot was a little weak and, as such, it tended to dawdle along. Perhaps a more urgent, supernatural threat might have made it more exciting? However, it was a well-written and polished attempt with some good characters and possibilities. Maybe some of those possibilities will work their way into the next books.
