Amazing tale of sorrow and survival,
This review is from: Someone to Love Us: The shocking true story of two brothers fostered into brutality and neglect (Paperback)
I tend to avoid true life stories of pain and suffering, but having read the blurb at the back of this book in the library this week, I took it out and read it cover to cover today - Truely amazing story of a young boy who suffered in care so horribly, to the point of having his brother die in bed next to him - he really believed in the 1040's that his brother hadn't died in vain, and that social services would get their act together... Just goes to show that nothing changes, and life today is no worse and no better than it was 60 years ago... I'd recommend this book to anyone who wouldn't normally read survivors stories - there is no schmalz, no desire for pity, just honesty and a will to carry on...
