UK Version stripped of Bonus Features,
This review is from: Marvel's The Avengers 6-Movie Collection [DVD] (DVD)So Disney decided that the UK version would only get a 5 minute bonus feature named "Visual Journey" where as the US release gets a whole bundle of special features, including a Joss Whedon commentary. Personally I think this is a bit of a kick in the teeth to keep the same price as the American version but remove half the features and not release a special edition boxed set (even if it has been pushed back to estimated Spring 2013). Bad move from Disney in my opinion, especially when all it would have taken was to push the release date back by 8 days for us to get all these features.

S Jones says:
1 star reviews based on a single complaint are just obvious attention grabs. Even if you wanted more special features, the value of what we already know to be in the set isn't worth just a single star.

I'm in the US and since our set has been delayed until spring 2013, this set is the next best thing. After import from the UK to the US it comes to $60usd, really cheap as to even buy the movies individully would cost about $100.
I don't care about the special features or 3D, I just want the movies in a nice cheap box set!

I agree that we should not get penalised in the UK. Add to that - the UK version has been digitally censored, too. Not good at all!

"Digitally censored"? In what way? I'm considering buying this but (being a nerd) I want all the bells and whistles so I'm reading all the reviews to find out what people think of it. I'm looking at how many discs, what kind of extras, running time etc, so any more details about censorship would be good. Cheers.

I have not heard of anything being censord, but it is just the movies and very very little bonus features. For me, the cheapest option is to import this set to the US. I care not about the extras as I watched them all when I had the individual discs. It is the most basic set, 6-disc, 6 movies.

A spear tip has been removed - for more information visit the rather large thread at Blu-Ray.com
It appears that many countries have it censored, but The USA and a few other Euro countries are uncensored (plus the USA gets more extras):
The US is uncensored ...

This is quite a good link explaining it:

Thank you N. Micouris, that was just what I needed to know.
I have not seen The Avengers yet, so honestly I wouldn't have even noticed the spear tip missing.
To me, that is not a big deal and only paying $60 for all 6 movies from the UK is perfect for me. Looking forward to receiving my UK set shortly, as it shipped a few days ago.

True - it is cheap, but apparently missing extras galore, too!
