Our apologies for our QC failure on this occasion. We pride ourselves on doing better that that and most of our reviews confirm this. You are the second person with an Explorer with loose coils, and we have now addressed this potential problem. The PCB with the said coils is now gone and the lighting has been converted to LED (with battery backup so that the instrument can be used outside as well) which needs much simpler electronics and is therefore much more reliable than the halogen illumination. We have kept the price the same. One of our sales staff will be contacting you with a view to exchanging for one of the new units and also to make recompense for the trouble you have been caused. We have sold several hundred of these Explorers during the last 2 years, and only 2 have let us down. However that is 2 too many and we have acted to remove any possibility of this happening again. We would be pleased to exchange your Explorer for the new LED version but unfortunately we have been unable to trace your records under 'Mobile Taylor' and would appreciate you contacting us.
