Maximum security / Minimum fuss,

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Over the last few years I've tried quite a few internet security suites courtesy of the Amazon Vine program. Most of them have been displaced after just a few months. Trend Micro Titanium is the first one which has reached the end of its license period. And that says something about how easy this software has been to live with.
Internet security software appears to be becoming increasingly bloated with features: the sort of features you might expect in utilities to tune-up your computer, or to perform backups. They also seem to be becoming slicker in appearance. Trend Micro Maximum Security only partially fits this model: it certainly has the features but the appearance is not as slick as some - which, in my opinion, gives it a friendlier, less intimidating feel.
Having said this, the additional features were not ones which I made use of. As such, had I been paying for this software, I probably would have opted for the 'Internet Security' version rather than the 'Maximum Security' version. The former would have had all the features that I required.
So, as this software rapidly approaches the point where I need to re-subscribe, will I be renewing my license? The answer to that is, 'no'. In fact, I have purchased ESET Smart Security - having been highly impressed by their anti-virus software in the past. However, if this does not live up to expectations, then I would be quite happy to return to Trend Micro in the future.
