Can you do such an album today?,
This review is from: The Dreaming (Audio CD)
"The Dreaming" is what it is - a dream! It is also a musical explosion, a complete extroversion of Kate Bush after her first three albums. Nothing could have warned you against it, certainly not "Lionheart" og "The Kick Inside".
Kate is dreaming her life. Someone is trying to touch her for the first time. She dream that she is part of the gang ("There Goes A Tenner"), that she is the girlfriend of a spy or a lone aircraft warrior ("Night Of The Swallow"). She could be the lover / assistant of Houdini ("Houdini") or she dream that she is dying ("All The Love").
But someone is tocuhing her, and she is frighten in a most delightfull way ("Get Out Of My House"). This is first, burning hot love, uncontrollable, explosive, scary. Nobody, nobody has sung like this before - she is screaming her hart out, and I swear, I was completely thrown up against the wall!
And she is ready, after all! "Leave It Open" says so - she is longing in an almost improper way. This is sex, ready to unfold for the man she wants / don't want.
Seen in retrospective, the record is a turning point for Kate Bush. There is now absolutely no return back to the innocense that was portrayed in for example "The Man With The Child In His Eyes" from The Kick Inside. Kate has becomes a full-grown woman now - not a girl anymore - and the following albums continues this growth.

I don't think so!
