His best album yet!,
This review is from: Young Love (Audio CD)
I think Young Love is his best album to date. Every track is great, and it's good to know that he's back to his spoken word/rap style mixed with pop rock. It really works to his advantage, and it's an overall delightful album. Track by track review:
1)Hey Mama - catchy opening track to the album. If you don't feel happy listening to this then you probably have no soul!
2)Ships In The Night - great beat, great rapping, retrospective song. What's not to love?
3)Count on Me - another hip-hop style song that combines...harps??? Still a great song, especially with the children singing in the bridge.
4)Sooner or Later - midtempo ukelele song that has a chorus that makes you feel like flying.
5)Chasing The Light - piano riffs combined with spoken word makes you feel tapping your feet.
6)Learning to Love Again - different from the rest of the album, quite relaxing.
7)Down - more guitar-orientated but still great. That chorus is a winner.
8)She Got the Honey - another hip-hop song that feels jolly and care-free.
9)Young, Dumb and in Love - a pop-rock song that makes you want to get up and dance!
10)Rochester - soft guitar ballad that is a nice ending to the album.
If you like Mat Kearney you will LOVE this! For fans of Greg Laswell ,Matt Nathanson or pop-rock, there is no harm in giving this a try. I adore this record, and I'm sure you will too.
