Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Bergman Collection [DVD] (DVD)
Much as I sympathise with the previous reviewer, I can only say a big thank you to Tartan for releasing this excellent box set. Bergman fans, please note that the set also contains a booklet and a certificate because this box set is only limited to 1000 copies - something not mentioned in the description.
The DVDs are beautiful (even if the environmentally friendly cardboard cases are a bit flimsy and home-made looking) but I have deducted a star because 1) they give no film synopsis on the back. (OK, the info is all in the booklet but that's not the point.) 2) It doesn't include the full canon of Bergman's work.
Still 210 quid for 30 movies - what a New Year bargain!

Do you still own this set? Are you interested in selling?

Thanks for your review. Only one thousand copies? That was a really stupid thing to do. It explains why it is so very difficult to find this box set to buy.
After reading your review I realised that there is no point in keep looking for this box set anymore.
The lower price I saw was £350 but it wasn't even new. Thanks to the idea of only one thousand copies. What were they thinking?
It is also thanks to very limited number of Tartan copies that there are Chinese or Korean collections being sold for $60. They can't be good. Not at that price.
Tartan closed doors years ago so are we ever going to see another release like this box set? Now that I gave up on this box set I am going to buy all Bergman dvds or blu ray discs available but a box set would be much more practical.

Lucas, I really feel your pain!
Usually, I dither and then lose out on special offers. On this occasion, the Amazon gods were definitely smiling down on me! I agree, if something is a limited edition, they should state that fact clearly.
