Plug-in cordless door bell.,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)This device works! It is no effort to fit: plug in 3 units around the house and stick the bell push on your door frame with sticky pads. That's it!
The chime units have a socket on the front so you don't reduce the overall number of sockets available to use. They can deliver 16 different (lengthy) tunes, including some Christmas ones. You press a little button on the side to scroll through the choices. My wife unplugged one to change it to a more appropriate socket and it didn't revert to the first chime, as found by a previous reviewer. Whether that can be guaranteed to happen all the time, I don't know.
I installed chimes upstairs, downstairs, and in the garden shed - in anticipation of Summer barbecues when we are all sitting outside. Here's hoping!
I wish there was a volume control available: they are loud!
Some reviewers have not discovered the trick to removing the clear plastic strip on the bell push so that they can insert their door number: I haven't either! Somebody help me out here, please.
I think the product is perfectly OK. You can buy more refined products, if you wish to spend more money, but it met my expectations more than adequately. Watch out for small children pressing the button to hear all 16 tunes one after another: there are no short cuts!

ref removing the plastic cover - remove the back of the bell push and remove the battery. where the battery normally sits you will see two small holes which correspond to either end of the plastic glass. use an object such as a pen to push through these holes and push the glass out. You may have to just use a knife on the other side just to loosen and coax the glass lens all the way out. make a note of how it came out. Then you can replace the card or just write your house number on. I printed NO SALESMEN onto paper, cut to size and then placed it on top of the small piece of card already in there. The when happy replace the lens ensuring you put it back in the same way it came out as it is slanted slighlty to fit the contour of the button housing so will only fit correctly one way. You have to put the lens in equally all round first and then push hard as it is a tight fit.
I hope this helps
