This review is from: Nazi Germany (Longman Companions To History) (Paperback)
I am currently studying A level history and the Longman Companion to Nazi Germany is invaluable. It contains in-depth knowledge and information from the beginnings of the Weimar Republic, in 1918, to the dissolution of the Nazi state, in 1945.
The book contains nine sections:
*Section 1:Politics and the State: the Weimar Republic and the Rise of Nazism
*Section 2:Politics, State and Party: the Third Reich
*Section 3:Economy, Society and Culture, 1918-1945
*Section 4:Diplomacy, Rearmament and War, 1918-1945
*Section 5:Anti-semitism, Racial Politics and the Holocaust, 1933-1945
*Section 6:Glossary of Term and Abbreviations
Not only does Tim Kirk use simple tables, annotated maps and chronologies to convey points to the reader but he details everything in an easy and simplified manner which makes understanding the information so much more straightforward then other books.
I have used many different books as sources of reference on my course so far but the Longman Companion is certainly the best. The book is easy, uncomplicated and absolutely full with important information.
