Great ideas...inaccurate patterns,

This review is from: Making Children's Clothes (Kitchen & Home)
Once my daugher turned 2 (becuase, as noted by other reviewers, there are few patterns for children younger than this) I made her a few items from this book. The hat for up to a 3 year old would be too small for the average 6 month old baby...the elasticated top is far too wide and way too short...the applique pinafore is gorgeous. It is frustrating that there are so many problems becuase the clothes look great in the book. I prepared a pattern for making some trousers but decided that the instructions didn't make sense (and I am an experienced sewer) so used a different pattern instead. It would get a lower rating, except that there are some really good ideas here - it is just a real pity that the patterns were not checked and edited more thoroughly. If you do get this book then be careful - and if you are new to sewing I would suggest that you buy something else instead.
