3.0 out of 5 stars seriously amazing but let down by the cable, 11 Aug. 2011

This review is from: Klipsch Image X10i Noise Isolating In-Ear Headset with 3-Button Mic for iPhone / iPod - Black (discontinued by manufacturer) (Electronics)
These are truly brilliant! I have had a lot of experience with headphones, having studied music technology at university and worked in several professional studios, and I can honestly say that these are some of the best I have ever used, certainly the best in-ear ones.

My only problem with them is that the cable is not up to the job. After about 5 months of, to be honest, pretty light use, it has already split around the jack connection, exposing bare wire. I would understand this if I had used them everyday or for jogging but I haven't, mostly I use them whilst sitting in a chair at home and they are always kept in a case. This is unacceptable for headphones of this price and I will be contacting Klipsch to ask for a replacement pair.

Does the replacement still hold on for you? No signs of the cable splitting?

Fair enough.
ANyway I just bought some Bose MIE 2is - was set on the B&W C5s, but I want them for the gym, something that won't fall out but sounds decent. The guy in the shop said the B&Ws would perish or rust or something with the sweat. Was a bit disappointed as they sounded pretty good based on the reviews, but will check out these Boses tonight, hope they'll do the job.

Same here. Sounded great but split after about a year, then eventually the connection broke, but sadly outside the warranty period. The build quality is not up to standard. (By the way, these sound amazing and are extremely comfortable).
