Great show, poorly designed package.,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Avengers: The Complete 50th Anniversary Collection [DVD] (DVD)
To echo the previous review, this is a very poorly designed set. The discs are so tight in the card pockets they are almost impossible to remove without causing damage. Virtually all the discs have some scuffing or scratches, hardly surprising given how they are stored. I've now received two sets, both of which have damage to the external box, which may or may not have occured in transit ( not helped in my opinion by the inadequate packaging used by Amazon - surely an expensive item like this deserves more than a perfunctory bit of card - ever heard of bubble wrap?) It's always nice to have complete series box sets but anyone considering this one should proceed with caution. ( By the way, after two attempts, Amazon will only offer a refund. )

I still have my A&E VHS set with all the EMMA PEEL episodes. Don't know how old it is Fifteen years? But it doesn't get better than the sexy DIANA RIGG. THE AVENGERS is the best adventure/action show of it's kind. WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR THE WORLD!

To avoid damage to any disc then do this. After ensuring the disc is actually clean then place it in a clear plastic envelope (which are very cheap to buy on a famous rival site!) Keep the dvd case totally seperate from the discs and never ever use it to store the disc. I do this with all my disc collection. The dvd cases can be on display but not the discs; which are all in their plastic envelopes and locked away as securely as possible.

I received mine with a 'dent' in Steeds bowler hat and the cardboard box was wet as the postman carried it from his van in the storm, because there was no bubble wrap or cellophane wrapping, just a soggy cardboard packaging.
