Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Not a Gold Rush - The Taleist Self-Publishing Survey (Kindle Edition)
This is a survey of 1,007 self-published authors. The results are interesting but difficult to interpret because, as the authors acknowledge, correlation is not causation. So, for example, the books with the most reviews turn out to be the ones that are selling the best, but is that because the more books sold, the more reviews you get, or the more reviews you get, the more you sell?
Because of these problems, I think that, for all but a few questions (such as, "should I pay to have my cover designed, or do it myself?) it's going to be hard to take away a recipe for success from this book, but for less than the price of a magazine I think any author interested in self-publishing should be reading this.
So, it's thought-provoking and interesting; but just keep asking yourself, as you go through reading the correlations, whether it's clear which way causality is going.
