What a difference this book has made to my pictures. Lots of good, simple advice on lighting and best of all simple diagrams. I like the way that on each example picture is written the camera settings. Setting up a home studio on the dining table was within my very small budget and makes a big difference. For instance I bought a white reflector board for under £5 from a local hobby shop rather then the more professional and expensive purpose built items. It works just as well and is easy to use. I had bought a cheap pair of studio lights from Photosel about £120 the pair) some while ago and the book actually helped me work out how to use them effectively.
I also followed the advice on ISO settings and RAW format. Fundamental stuff which I just didn't know before.
lots of other simple things for example fake ice. who would have thought of fake ice? I bought some over the internet and again it makes a big difference.
It looks like the sample pictures use an inexpensive lens like the one that came with my kit camera.
Like the title says - if you want to go from snapshots to great shots and aren't a photographic wizz already then this will give you a lot of the knowledge to help you get there.
well worth the money.
