Decent remix album but...,
This review is from: 45:33 Remixes (Audio CD)
...it doesn't really sound like LCD Soundsystem - so if you're new to the band this is probably not the best place to start.
Then again if you're new to the band and a lover of all things Theo Parrish, it might actually be the IDEAL place to start. Indeed, it was the presence of the Theo remix (unheard) that clinched this deal for me. And as you would expect it is excellent, but the Runaway, Prince Language and Trus'Me versions hold their own in the esteemed presence of a Detroit techno A-lister.
If anything this LP holds up better than 45: 33 which I found a bit flat in some places - maybe it's the slightly different angles taken by each of the remixers which give this one the edge. Pity that there's not more of "Someone Great" which was my favourite track from the original release - in fact one of my favourite LCD Soundsystem tracks of all.
An atypical LCD Soundsystem release, but one that makes for an innovative, entertaining and accessible techno-house listen.
