My new best friend!,
This review is from: HotRox Electronic Hand Warmer (Misc.)
I suffer with Raynauds Disease and saw these on the Raynauds & Scleroderma Association website. As the temperature progresses below 5 degrees my hands become really painful even with the best gloves I can find and my hands in my pockets.
I have tried handwarmers before-the type that you click which become solid and then have to be 'cooked' in hot water to reuse them. This is such a hassle that I never use them. I love this about HotRox-they can be used again and again and then simply plug them in to recharge-genius! I find they last quite a long time between charges too.
I find them best for use in mittens as this allows the heat to reach the fingertips, obviously in a normal glove they would only heat your palm. The other options is to put them in your pocket and keep your hands in your pockets, which I did today when it was 2 degrees. At the low setting they kept the chill away from my fingers and on the high setting they were positively toasty so I kept them on the low setting. They certainly get warm enough for my needs.
I did read the reviews before I bought them and bought two, one for each pocket as only one side of the device emits heat, the other side being the location of the battery. If you buy two for use in mittens/pockets I recommend you buy the packs that contain a pouch to help maintain a constant heat longer.
