A kindle necessity so why is it not in the box???,
This review is from: e-Reader Power Adaptor, Kindle UK (Type G) USB charger (for Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle, Kindle Touch, and Kindle Keyboard) (Accessory)I bought the Kindle as a gift expecting a box full of goodies, however I had to buy a seperate sleeve and one of these chargers!.
The charger should come in the box in my mind, as the iPhone range does.
The sleeve is a necessity but VERY over-priced. Amazon know this is the only sleeve that will do whats needed hence the price.
What turned from a £89 xmas gift has now turned into £130 (inc P+P) because of the 'other add ons'
C'mon guys give us a break, where' your Xmas spirit?!!

It's not a necessity because the Kindle can be charged with its USB charger. And if you compare it to MP3 players, rather than mobile phones (more of a similar type of gadget imo), most of them don't come with a mains charger either.

It's annoying that the new Kindle doesn't come with one. The Kindle Keyboard does.
But you can get mains to USB adapters from other suppliers quite cheaply. And you can get neoprene sleeves for the Kindle for £5 rather than the ridiculous £30 for most cases.

But this Kindle is also a cheaper than previous ones and many people already have a suitable charger / USB port! Quite a few Apple devices do not come with chargers (iTouch, Shuffle etc.) or covers (iPhone, iPad etc.) - the iPhone does come with a charger but it is also ~£500.

This is overpriced BUT you should have read the product description, only some Kindles come with chargers (and as far as I know, none come with sleeves) and it's not Amazon's fault you didn't read it.

In all fairness, even though I agree with you, your review is a little unfair. Neither the sleeve nor the adaptor is essential for the kindle. And it sounds like you bought the official kindle cover. I bought a leather cover for my kindle for about £8, not £30. Also this charger is not needed if you have any USB to AC power adaptor. Just because you have not read into the product's description thoroughly, is not amazons fault. But yes with this product you are paying £13 for a charger with the words "amazon" on it. Shop around and get cheaper deals by not going amazon official. You will find things similar, if not better for less.
