Gouryella - Tenshi CD2,
This review is from: Tenshi [CD 2] (Audio CD)
Late in 1998, two of the soon-to-be biggest trance producers in the world (Ferry Corsten and Tiesto) joined forces under the Gouryella alias. They would eventually released three singles together before rumoured creative differences put an end to the partnership. Gouryella's debut in 1999 was arguably the finest trance tune ever made: the self-titled "Gouryella". Later that year the beautiful "Walhalla" followed. In 2000, "Tenshi" was released and this pulsating classic was to be the last true Gouryella single, although in 2003 Ferry Corsten released "Ligaya" under the Gouryella moniker (without Tiesto's input).
There is something wondrous about "Tenshi". I have never heard anything quite like it since its release in 2000. The Transa Remix is undoubtedly everybody's favourite. It has striking sirens going off in the background as well as a more other-worldly vibe in the acoustics. The beats are simply rock hard and the electronic synths are marvellously hypnotic, drawing the listener in the music and never letting go throughout its 7 minute duration.
This is CD2 of a two CD set, and is the only Gouryella single to follow this official release format. CD1 contains three tracks: the Radio Edit, the Original Mix and a remix from Mark Moon. Both CDs are fantastic in their own right although CD2 is considerably more expensive to obtain.
