This review is from: What Not to Expect When You're Expecting (Paperback)
I bought this book because I wanted an alternative to the 'what to expect...' which seems so U.S centric and having read Zoe Williams' Guardian columns, I knew I liked her style of writing. It was eye-opening to learn more about the studies into drinking in pregnancy and frankly a little worrying to hear the real reasons behind why women are steered away from having epidurals most of the time. I enjoyed reading the book, and my husband even read it (which is pretty ground-breaking news). The only thing I thought was a bit misleading was the title which implied it was going to be about all about pregnancy, rather than post natal and I found myself thinking that there were still lots of areas that could have been covered; I'm 3 months pregnant, I can't think about what happens once I have a baby yet! Still, an opportunity for a sequel, perhaps?
