Not as good as Ronnie Barker's other sitcoms...but still a laugh,
This review is from: The Magnificent Evans [DVD] (DVD)
When you think of Roy Clarke, you think "Last of the Summer Wine", "Open All Hours" and "Keeping Up Appearances".
When you think of Ronnie Barker you think "Porridge", "Open All Hours", "Going Straight" etc etc.
This series is missing from both lists, probably for a good reason: its nowhere near as good as any of the mentioned series, and probably explains why only 6 episodes were made.
It is however a nice series that has some really funny moments and is thoroughly enjoyable to watch. Ronnie Barker's Welsh accent leaves a bit to be desired (at times to me he sounds almost Indian!), but this is a must for any fan of Ronnie Barker.
