Portable mini charger at its best: flawless in deisgn and efficiency,
This review is from: Anker PowerCore+ mini (3350mAh Premium Aluminum Portable Charger) Lipstick-Sized External Battery Power Bank for iPhone 6 / 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 / mini 3, Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge / S6 / S6 Edge and More (Blue) (Electronics)
Anker as a company have some amazing products which start from a mixture of accessories for mobile devices to some of the high-end external battery chargers on the market. The Anker Astro mini works as the perfect device to charge up your Smartphone or some tablets. It is so small and has a great cylinder shape so that it can easily fit into your pocket as it is no bigger than my middle finger.
Inside the box:
Anker® Astro Mini 3000mAh External Battery,
Micro USB power wire,
The design of the Anker Astro Mini had me even more attached to it than any other similar external battery charger I have. It has a cool design, shaped as a cylinder. It comes in 3 different shiny colours; Blue, Pink and Black. The external charger is very simple, it is made of a durable aluminium material which keeps its build quality of high standard. it feels great to hold in your hand and I can assure you it does not seem as though it is going to break any time soon. It features only one USB 2.0 input port as expected and one input port to charge the device. The weight of the Astro mini is only 80g which is very light, it’s not so light that I will not even notice it in my pocket but it will not disturb you in any way. In comparison it feels just a tad heavier than my iPhone 4s.
It is compatible with
Apple and Android smartphones-iPhone 5S, 5C, 5, 4S,
Galaxy S5, S4, S3, Note 3, Nexus 4, HTC One, One 2 (M8), Nokia Lumia 520, 1020,
most other Smartphones.
All 5V input USB-charged phones.
The Performance of the Astro Mini had my expectations very high, especially considering it has Power IQ built-in. (PowerIQ™ technology, each port intelligently identifies your device and seeks to maximize its charging speed). It definitely met my expectations as its performance was above satisfactory. The Astro mini will take roughly 3 hours to be fully charged through your computer, most probably slightly faster if done through the mains. This is quite an adequate amount of time considering that on a full charge it will be able to fully charge your iPhone to 100%. To get your iPhone on a full charge it takes roughly 2 hours from my test. With this you will have at least 9 hours of talk time on your iPhone making it more than enough. It didn’t have any problems when charging my iPhone 4s, previously with some other battery chargers they could randomly turn off. The Astro was very efficient the only let down was that it did not have any sort of indicators such as an LED light to show how much battery power the device has left.
Overall, I have to give this external charging device a rating of 4 stars out of 5. It is a great charging device and does the job perfectly for short trips out and for quick emergencies. At the same time it has a great design aspect to it making sure you stay stylish when using it. Although the Astro does lack some features such as a battery power indicator it is still well worth the price of $20 or 13 quid in UK. We have to face the facts and realise that we all need this device as none of our phone batteries are reliant enough these days, and the Astro Mini does the trick so well.
