ALBUM OF THE YEAR,
This review is from: The Back Room (Audio CD)
I had heard of the Editors long before fame finally found them, but were not fully aware of their music. I purchased the album on the strength of the single 'Blood', and I was not disappointed.
Being a huge indie fan, this is by far my favourite album of 2005...and possibly 2006.
The band are compared to the likes of Joy Division and Interpol, which can be heard through the style of Chris Urbanowicz's guitar and Tom Smiths eerie vocals. However, there is a lot more aggression in the music of Editors, which is what I feel makes this album so powerful and addictive.
There is also much variation on one LP, from the pumping 'Fingers in the Factories' through to the subtle 'Fall'.
Oh, and there also unbelieveable live!
All in all, a great album with every song a possible single.
Cant rate them highly enough - please just buy it!
