This album is simply amazing! In just 8 tracks Jobim (with help from his son) creates a whole new world of Bossa Nova. The opening track is by far the best. It builds and builds into a haunting anthem of a song. Every song here has its own merits though and each track is very different from the last. All songs transport you to somewhere far away - somewhere strange and interesting. This is a real achievement for Jobim as Bossa Nova was becoming far too formulaic, but with this album I think he breaks new ground.
