3)Melissa George film credits include The Amityville Horror remake & Triangle, One of her earliest roles was playing Angel in Aussie soap Home & Away.
4)Josh Hartnett feature film debut was Halloween H20.
5)Sam Raimi was tipped to direct this but decided to produce instead.
6)David Slade directed Twilight:Eclipse.
In Barrow Alaska a small-town is plunged into darkness for one month every year, But this year as the sun set's on the horizon for the last time for a month a stranger comes ashore in on a boat from a huge liner, Arriving in the town the stranger destroys the only helicopter in the town, disables all Cell Phones & slaughters the sledge dogs, Arrested he preaches "They are coming & you townsfolk will be dead".
You see Barrow Alaska is now cut off from the outside world & is suddenly attacked by a bloodthirsty gang of Vampires hellbent on causing death & destruction on the town led by the vicious Marlow, The town's only saviours are Sheriff Eben Oleson & his estranged wife Stella, Who for 30 day's try & survive the brutal onslaught of barbaric vampire attacks & hide with a few survivors held up in a empty attic in a battle to save there very lives.
This is a excellent vampire horror movie that delivers great performances, A great script & a superb shock ending.
Josh Harnett & Melissa George both give convincing performances as estranged couple Eben & Stella Oleson who are on the verge of seperation find themselves pulled back together as they help protect the towns survivors from a gang of bloodthirsty vampires.
David Slade direction is inspired & the towns snowy locations deliver a chilling eerie atmosphere that enhances the film's tension as you actually feel this town is cut off from the outside world & are on there own.
This has some great bloody gory vampire sequences & Danny Huston as Marlowe is quite terrifying as Huston only has to give a menacing glare to terrify the viewer.
Then of course theres that great twist ending which I wont spoil for anybody who hasn't yet seen this film but it's a clever original idea that makes this vampire film standout from the crowd.
If you love vampire horror films then I recommend you to purchase this film it delivers sinister chills & nerve shredding tension & will no doubt become a cult vampire classic in year's to come.
