This review is from: Deluxe Military Liquid Metal Compass (Toy)
the compass is very good and accurate but if youre going up in the hills in somewhere like brecon then youre gonna find yourself falling of the top of the pen y fan, i say this because you need to be on a completely flat surface for the compass to be completely right, you also have to wait to let the compass set which is annoying on slection when youre try to go as fast as poosible, if youre slow and arent serious about hiking and stuff, get this, good quality and accurate, if on selection in brecon, get a silva compass, theyle never let you down, by the way i actually didnt make it into the regiment as i quit just after the jungle because the wife said it was the regiment or her, i chose her because wed been togetehr since teens and i had a lil kid on the way

Uncle Fester says:
Would it not just be a case of stopping for 30 seconds and holding the compass reasonably level to take a reading, rather than being "on a completely flat surface"?
I'm sure I could be standing on a hill and still hold a compass level.
