Good case for a Canon,
This review is from: AmazonBasics Camera Case for Digital Cameras Leather (Camera)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)I got this case because I used to have the Canon version of it and lost it. This looked like the perfect replacement.
Overall, when I compare this to my previous (Canon branded) case, it is comparable. I wouldn't have known the difference in the case itself.
The only difference is that my Canon case came with a black leather strap for the camera (that also went through the little hole at the top). This case doesn't, so I had to use the standard grey strap on my Canon. I just checked the product page for the Canon case, and it's not clear if that still comes with the black strap or not.
The price point is exactly the same has the Canon branded case. I wished it was slightly cheaper though (I was expecting it to be since it wasn't Canon branded).
Upon a very close look, the other difference is that the Amazon Basics case has softer, more worn black leather and the Canon one had a sleeker/smoother black leather.
Also, just to experiment, I tried the case out to see if any other cameras would fit. Here's what I found:
1. Sony Cybershot DSC-700: the camera is slightly to wide. I managed to squeeze it in, but couldn't get the case to close (the setting wheel at the top does not fit in). Overall, this would not be a good case for that camera, or anything slighly fatter than the Canon.
2. Sony Cybershot DSC-W80: fits perfectly, so a good choice!
