Irish music like you never heard it before.,

This review is from: The Lonesome Touch (Audio CD)
I grew up listening to Irish Music being murdered by various ceili bands and developed a passionate hatred of the music from an early age. As I grew a little older, I came to like some elements of Irish Traditional but still disliked most of the jigs, reels and other dance tunes.
One night last year I attended a concert in St. John's Art Centre Listowel County Kerry and heard Martin Hayes and Denis Cahill play a concert of mainly Irish dance music - like I never heard it played before.
For a start, the two played together like the right and left hands of a concert pianist, so perfect was their coordination and timing. The rythm and energy was fantastic. The tunes, many of which were familiar, took on a completly new light. The music became transpearent and I could hear the people and the land behind the music. I have never enjoyed a concert so much before.
I rushed to buy two albums from this pair, 'The Lonesome Touch' and 'Live in Seattle'. These were the most played CDs ever in this household.
If you want to really hear irish Traditional Music buy these albums.
