i wasn't expecting a whole lot from this unit as it's a few years old and coming in at such a low price. i needn't have fretted(*). it offers a lot of bang for your buck.
the 50 presets are generally very good offering a wide range of distortions and effects. it's relatively simple to tweak (or totally change) them and save them as a new preset giving you some unique and individual sounds.
glad i spent the extra and got the rp90 (over the rp70) as the expression pedal has already come in very handy. even if you were to only ever use it as a volume pedal it'd be worth it but as it gives you wah-wah control and the ability to morph some of the effects it takes the unit to a whole new level.
not complaining about the build quality. while it might not survive a life on the road it's small, and light, enough to stow in your gig bag if you're heading out and about. the effects switches react well to the press of a foot and the expression pedal doesn't feel flimsy.
like another reviewer mentioned i, also, keep a dedicated distortion attached (a joyo ultimate overdrive) as i like things to get a bit filthy but it isn't, strictly, necessary...i'm just a bit picky(**).
a great unit that i'd recommend to anyone on a budget who wants to tinker with such things.
* & ** - sorry about the puns...couldn't resist.
**EDIT** after a couple of weeks the expression pedal stopped working. hadn't abused the thing...it hadn't left my living room, needed a factory reset and the pedal had to be calibrated. which lost all the presets i'd saved. dropped from 5 stars to 4...if it does it again the points will plummet further.
