This review is from: Panasonic Lumix DMC-G6HEB-K, Compact System Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera with 14-140mm Lens - Black (Electronics)
This camera has all the features I want. I particularly like the reduced bulk and weight from the GH2 that I already possess. The sweep panorama works very well as does the multiple image shooting. I was disappointed, however, to find that the star burst scene mode cannot be controlled for exposure. I shot Christmas lights in the High Street with this effect and I would have liked a long shutter speed to capture vehicle trail lights. The actual exposure was 3200 ISO. The shots were still reasonable.
When I received the camera from you I nearly sent it back. The screen only showed 16x9 aspect ratio. It took me about five days before I discovered the setting - buried deep in Custom Mode - of REC AREA. I was surprised that it was shipped from manufacturer with this set on Movie. You have to get to nearly the end of the manual before you discover about this unusual setting. Having said that, as a person who takes a lot of movies, it will be a good feature.
I have five Lumix cameras and I admire very much what I call Panasonic's best kept secret - Intelligent Sensitivity. It is a wonderful facility, but Panasonic never advertise it. Such a pity! I have shot handheld at 1/6th of a second using this mode. And I am 83 years old!
The fully articulated screen is, of course, a marvellous feature.
I class this camera as one of the best at present and I have already taken a number of good photos. I may still use the GH2 for movies as it is superb, but the G6 will be a constant companion.
