Considering that the male part of this extraordinary wife/husband team Sean Beavan has worked with the likes of Slayer and Marilyn Manson one could expect an unbearbly heavy and gloomy affair. Fortunately that is not the case at all.
Instead we got some almost classic rock with more than a hint of Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and the mighty Led Zep. Combining strong songwrting, a 'picture perfect'production (done in their own home studio) and some highly accomplished musicianship. That rhythm section is almost frightening tight and inventive. And there is a subtle and effective use of electronics to give a more contemporary spin.
The female part Juliette Beavan is an excellent and versatile vocalist. Raw and primal sensuality in one track and on the next she shows some Aimee Mann-like sensitivity. While Sean is a highly diverse guitarist, slide, soloes, multilaying. Combining pop-sensibilty and avantgardism. Almost like an underground Lindsay Buckingham. And he is a fine singer too.
This is the stuff legends are made of.
