This is an honestly terrible book, and I would be ashamed to look anyone in the eye and tell them I have read it.
It's written almost (but not quite) as badly as Twilight. The constant references to Ana's "inner-goddess" and "subconscious" make me want to kick the schizophrenic lunatic in the teeth, and there is no discernible plot other than "they have sex. he's in a bad mood, so they have sex, then he's in a good mood." If you took out the sex, this book would be no more than five or six pages long. I understand that this is categorized as erotic, but anything that's a novel in length, especially as this is a trilogy, needs to have more going for it. In short; this book is trash.
But for some reason it's damn good trash.
No one is trying to market this books as "great and soulful literature", so once I accepted that and managed to shut up my inner book snob (as I only wish Ana would shut up her damned inner goddess) I actually find myself enjoying it.
It's filthy and fun, and gives us a hot male lead to drool over in our imaginations. Putting the fatal flaw of its lack of plot aside, what more can you really ask for in erotica?
Bad book, fairly decent erotica. Read it on holiday then forget about it.
