Sick of EA not doing this series justice? pls support review.,
This review is from: Fifa Manager 14 Legacy Edition PC (DVD-ROM)
Every year same old bugs and the same bug ridden 6 year old match engine. THis game makes EA look like a joke. The graphics etc on 3d match engine are worse now by far than what you can get on the nexus 7 tablet. Modern pcs - nearly 2014 and EA releases this joke of a management game. AVOID like the plague you have been warned its completely awful. I used to buy fifa manager every single year until in the end I got so sick of every year being told there would be hundreds of improvement to then just get EXACTLY the same game with few new loading screens etc. Basically its insulting they put Fifa in the title - this is done as I am sure many fifa players buy it thinking logically it will have the same high quality match engines of the fifa games - but it dosent - in fact it uses a bug ridden 5 year old match engine where the ai is non existent - world class players run about like headless chickens - and as for crossing well they cant figure out how to get that to work at all. They every year hide away the 3d match engine video footage and screen shots as they know if people see the same old 2d pathetic crowds - the same poorly animated 3d match engine and so on it will effect sales. I bought fifa manager 2012 when it was less than a tenner and for that money it was worth it as you can get limited fun out of it but at end of day it is not in anyway worth more than that and that goes for the 2014 one too. Same as the last 4 years or so I have looked to see if finally ea has brought in a decent company to make this game - but nope its the same old company that every single year has promised improvements and done nothing. Example = all fifa manager players wanted a new 3d match engine that looke like fifa games about 3 years back - instead the developer listed as yearly improvements -flags stuck in middle of the awful 2d crowds that had your teams badge on - they said this would create a better atmosphere......they were just stuck in there not even in someones hand if you looked - then they stated HD static screens as a improvement - and have promised loads of times to sort out the crossing ie goes straight to keeper and cant do it. Not to mention for four years now inaccurate commentary and so on. Please don't buy if enough of us make a stand hopefully a good developer will be handed this game and we will get a real 3d match engine that works. EA need to understand that we are all hard up nowadays and they should reward loyalty with major improvements on games each year not minor updates that you can hardly see. Had to update my review now.......why? to ensure above was correct. It is. spot on. Try and down load a demo of it before you decide for yourself...failing that..wait till it drops to about £12 as its probably worth that - or do what I did and go and get football manager 2014 instead....which has its faults but is far superior to this effort.

How do you know you have saved £40 - the reviewer admits he has not played it as his review was done BEFORE the game's release. This is a blatantly biased review based on there being no actual playtesting.
As his review went on and on and on it is obvious he has a biased opinion on this series of games.

Excellent Pickle - and I have responded to the other lad who reckons he has saved £40 based on that fool's biased review.

This "Legacy Edition" is pretty much a database/kit update! It is NOT a new game. This is Fifa Manager 13 with updates ONLY. Some features that were unlockable are now open from the start. Apparently there is nothing new in this game.

EA Sports and developer Bright Future have announced Fifa Manager 14 will be the last release and they are discontinuing the series. It appears the only major markets for these management games are the UK and Germany, and with the competition from Football Manager they don't make enough sales to justify continuing. Sad news, but understandable. I would guess it has been this lack of sales that has prevented much innovation in the series over the years.

Mr. Brian J. Hayes says:
it only lacks sales because the match engine is out of date EA sports is more interested in FIFA 14 than the manager game

Stephen Veasey says:
Fifa Manager 2008 had a great match engine, huge variety of goals and playing styles and matches that actually looked like a real game. Something went wrong in 2009 that they simply either haven't addressed or been able to fix since then. EA didn't appear to realise that the 3D Match engine was the only reason anybody bought the game so all of the other 'improvements' were irrelevant. Pity, because it was more fun than Football Manager..
