A wonderful read,
This review is from: Ice Angel (Hardcover)
Ice Angel is Elizabeth Hanbury's second Regency romance and is every bit as seductive as her first. The scene is set lavishly, whether it's a ball or the squalor of London's back streets; the author has a fine eye for period detail without its ever seeming overdone. Isabella is a heroine will identify with: vulnerable and nursing a terrible secret, but feisty, loyal and passionate. Hal is just my sort of hero: dashing and handsome, but underneath the fashionable devil-may-care exterior he's the Regency version of a `new man' - caring and thoughtful, and very good with children and animals! The plot is well-worked, so that each new twist and drama follows at a perfect pace, and there is never a dull moment. The main surprises, although I suspected they were coming in some form managed to do just that - to surprise me. There are two secondary romances worked in, both of which are warm and believable and which the reader will care about in their own right, and the main love scenes between Isabella and Hal are to die for: sweet and erotic and moving all at the same time. A wonderful read!
