Great follow-up, the REAL sound of Ibiza,
This review is from: Balearic Beach Session (Audio CD)
As a massive fan of the first installment in this series (mixed by Jon Sa Trincha) I was very eager to get my hands on the follow-up, and it sure does not disappoint! Although it is not as varied in style as the original it still makes for both a relaxing yet engaging listen, every time you play it.
It is the kind of album that gives you upbeat funk and rhythmic lounge grooves without demanding you dance all night with your hands held high. It is much more suited to being played at the bar or on the beach, letting you soak up the sun and nod your head to during the day.
The whole vibe comes across as a very genuine and honest album, not going for cheap thrills by giving you tracks you know or will hear blasting out of the clubs that appeal to the 'Ibeefah' tourists. Instead you get an album that is rich in flavour and balearic feeling much more akin to the kind of bars that the poeple in the know whould frequent, as a getaway from the package-holiday crowd.
